Pedestrian areas and bicycle hire

Description

Vitoria-Gasteiz has extensive pedestrian areas. We recommend taking a stroll, around three kilometres long, from the park of La Florida, in the centre of the city, to the town of Armentia.

If you prefer to cycle, you can use the extensive network of bicycle lanes ("bidegorris") and the town paths which connect the town centre to the surrounding countryside. The Town Council has set up a free bicycle hire service, which is in operation throughout the spring, summer and autumn. There are 11 pickup points spread around the town (civic centres, Boulevard shopping centre, municipal tourist office, etc). Once registered, simply show your ID card, driving licence or passport to rent one of the bicycles.

The Tourist Office can give details on guided bike rides around the Green Ring of Salburua, Armentia and the Road to Santiago.
