The local calendar of festivities finishes on 21st December, with the celebration of the fair of Santo Tomás, which precedes the Bilbao celebration of Christmas.
The best turkeys, capons, fruits and vegetables from the Vizcaya baserris (homesteads) are set out in over 300 stalls, located between El Arenal and Plaza Nueva. If you are visiting the fair for the first time, do not leave without first trying a "talo" with chorizo, washed down with a fine glass of txakoli.
