Hi Kantari: Let's sing some more!

Let's sing some more!  And what better way than doing a bit of Basque karaoke.  Take a look at these website links, and with some of the videos there you and your group are set to go with some great sing-a-longs!

The Japanese word "karaoke" is now a universal form of entertainment in which amateur singers sing along with recorded music and/or video, using a microphone and public address system. The lyrics are usually displayed on a video screen, along with a moving symbol or changing color and/or music video images, to guide the singer.  Fortunately for us, some Euskalzaleak ("Euskara Fans") got to work and they have produced dozens of Basque song karaoke videos.

Follow these links into Basque karaoke land: (by Gabi de la Maza, a Basque language teacher at the Plentziako Euskal Girotze Barnetegia) (by someone who goes by "pizu17)

Thanks for their work in sharing these with everyone!

And this is only a beginning; once your start clicking around you'll find lots more!

Basque club singing!  Basque karaoke might be something very worthwhile at some of your Basque gatherings.  A member could bring a laptop with internet and you can view them directly, or else download these beforehand to create your own preferred album of songs!  Get a PowerPoint projector and everyone can sing along!   Let's sing some more.
