Considering making new
costumes?
All white for the guys and red skirts for the girls were for a long time
the norm for most groups. Some groups looking for variety, opted to go
in different directions and that is what explains some original,
invented costumes. Whereas this is great for indulging a creative urge,
an alternative is to take into consideration the wide assortment of
costumes depending upon the region and dance. Also note that today's
costumes were yesterday's everyday wear--yes that is how people dressed.
Arguably the best resource in this country for Basque costumes is Dr.

Depending on the standard, there are five hundred Basque dances. No

focus their time an energy. In addition to the website links
below, you can also acquire a set of a dozen videotapes (about twenty
hours) of Basque folk dance where you should get plenty of ideas. To get
your set contact Jesus Pedroarena
