The first phase of the exchange is complete.  9 young adults from NABO spent two weeks in Maule from June 25th to July 11th.  It was a huge success.  Our young adults were excellent ambassadors for NABO.  The families who took them into their homes were very impressed with them and found them all an absolute pleasure to have over.  In addition to my report, I have prepared a short (5 min.) film to show at the meeting highlighting our trip to Xiberoa.  Our participants really had the experience of a lifetime, and were able to see many places such as St. Jean de Luz, Gernika, Urdaibai, Gaztelugatxe, Donibane Garazi, Okabe and Kakueta.  Attached you will find the article that appeared in the Sud Ouest (Soule and Bearn)

The second phase of the exchange will take place when the group from the Lycee du Pays de Soule come to San Francisco August 19th - 30th.  They will be hosted by the San Francisco Basque Cultural Center.  Activities planned include a baseball game, walking tours of San Francisco, Muir Woods, 6Flags Discovery Kingdom, Angel Island, and Yosemite.  After spending a week exploring the San Francisco Bay Area, they will perform a Pastorale (Basque theater) on Friday August 28th and Sunday, August 30th.
