Egunkaria Libre: 2009 Dec 15, Trial against Egunkaria begins

2009-12-15

This Tuesday, 15 of December, the trial for the Egunkaria case will begin in Madrid. The case began in February of 2003 when a judge of the Spanish National Court ordered the 'temporary' closure (it remains to this day, nearly seven years after) for the only Basque language daily newspaper, on charges of "collaborating with armed groups", arresting some of its journalists and executives.
