A piece of research was conducted on “Language behaviour among young people in Pasaia” (researcher: Maite Otegi) throughout 2003 with the help of a grant from the Town Council of Pasaia. The research has been done from a “psycho-sociolinguistic perspective” and has gathered both quantitative and qualitative data. Taking the conclusions of this research as the starting point, the Sociolinguistic Cluster in collaboration with the Urtxintxa school has designed and prepared material to foster both motivation as well as use in the projects set up with young people (leisure activities...). The aim was to use the results of the research to create different materials that would be helpful, motivating and effective, etc. in specific activities and situations. The result has been materials designed for different target audiences: posters, a short course, leaflets…
