The Frances A. Echeverria Graduate Student Award offers funding in the form of an annual award of approximately $1,000 for Center for Basque Studies Ph.D. students to assist in completing their graduate dissertation (for expenses such as travel, books, etc.). The award was funded in 2006 by the Echeverria family in honor of their mother, Frances A. Echeverria, a Reno native. Upon graduation from the University of Nevada, Reno, Frances received the Herz medal for highest scholarship.
