Grants for Graduate Studies at UNR:
Two grants are available each year for students of the University of the Basque Country (EHU/UPV) to enroll in graduate degree programs at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). The grants will include travel costs, a monthly stipend, and waiving of the usual out-of-state tuition fee. Funding is provided through an agreement between the Department of Education, Universities, and Research of the Basque Government / Eusko Jaurlaritza and the University of Nevada, Reno.

One of the grants is open to students whose research involves Basque studies, in an area such as anthropology, political science, history, literature, and other related fields. The second grant is open to students in any field of study. 

These grants may be used only for graduate studies, including a Master’s program, Ph.D. program, or postdoctoral studies.

Applicants must have passed the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a grade of at least 500-600, depending on the requirements of the department in which they plan to enroll. For more information, please contact:

Grant for Undergraduate Studies at UNR:
The Office of International Students and Scholars at UNR offers one grant-in-aid each semester for an undergraduate student from the Basque Country to study at the University of Nevada, Reno. The student must enroll full-time in an academic program and have a 3.0 (or B) grade average at the time of admission. The grant pays for a portion of the out-of-state tuition costs, in the amount of $1,950 for one semester or $3,900 for a year of study; all other expenses must be met by the student. The deadlines to apply are April 15 for the fall semester and November 15 for the spring semester. Please contact the Center for Basque Studies for details.
