Course Description
An introduction to the language through the development of written and conversational language skills. Emphasis on Unified Basque (batua) but includes some information on the dialects.

General Syllabus

Lesson 1
Numbers 1–10
Yes and No questions
Zer da? (What is it?)
Two verbs for “to be”: IZAN and EGON

Lesson 2
New Vocabulary
Badakizu euskaraz?
(Do you know Basque?)
Verbs: Singular forms of Jakin (to know)

Lesson 3
Vocabulary: everyday objects
Demonstrative pronouns: hau, hori, hura
Locations: hemen, hor, han
Numbers 11-20

Lesson 4
Nongoa zara? (Where are you from?)
Nationalities and countries
Numbers 21-40

Lesson 5
Vocabulary: professions, adjectives, animals
Bizi and izan (where you live)
Affirmative and negative sentences (NON bizi zara?)
