Maika Etxekopar (1987 – Gotein-Libarrenx, Soule) is an actor, singer and musician. She also dances. She came to fame with the group of singers Amaren Alabak, which she has been part of for two years, and the Petit Théâtre de Pain theatre company as a professional actor. Over the last few months she has been performing Shakespeare’s greatest work across the Basque Country with the Artedrama and Dejabu companies: Hamlet, here and today.

Denis Laborde (1959 – Bayonne, Labourd) is an ethnologist and director of research at the CNRS (French National Institute of Scientific Research), director of studies at the EHESS and member of the cultural commission at the Fondation de France. He has been working with the Basque Cultural Institute for many years and his current project involves a world music research centre in Bayonne. Here he talks about his life, both rich and chaotic, with a touch of irony.

Odei Barroso (1987 – Urrugne, Labourd) is a well-known bertsulari (improviser). He also teaches improvised verse and is a member of the 2zio rap group. The vice-champion of the Northern Basque Country took part in the general improvisers’ championship, in which he got as far as the first round of semi-finals. His other projects include an artist’s residence at the Botanical Garden in St Jean de Luz until autumn 2014.
