Situated 46 m above sea level. The tower is 13 m high and has a range of 24 miles.
It was first built as a guiding lighthouse in 1862, on a clifftop of Cape Santa Catalina.
Althought it is 46 m above sea level, during storms the spray of the waves reaches the lighthouse, which is built on the promontory itself, and is hardly visible from the land.
