Ports of Getaria
Fishing port:
Description
Since the Isle of San Antón and the town were joined in the 16th century,
the port of Getaria has been one of the safest ports in the Cantabrian,
and an important harbour for the shallow-water fishing fleet.
The Basque Government has invested a great sum of money in providing it with
one of the best infrastructures on the coast, by constructing a
new access by road, docks, loading and unloading zones and piers for yachts.
Today, the port of Getaria has sufficient infrastructure for a fishing port
and sports harbour.
