HOLIDAY PARADE: Boiseko Gazteak and Txantxangorriak have been invited to participate in the annual Boise Holiday Parade to ride along with the Karro Kampo organizations (last year the participants who joined in the fun rode on top of a commissary wagon (flat bed wagon) along with the sheep camps.

The invitation we received reads “We are looking for music, singing and cute faces” . . . “to compliment the unique wagons” . . . “as they appear for their second round in the Boise Holiday Parade.”

The Parade is Saturday, November 24th beginning at 9:45 going through downtown Boise.

If you would like to participate in the Boise Holiday Parade, please let Ana Mendiola know (jernana@cableone.net or 322-8982) so we can get a rough headcount. Once we know where we’ll be lining up, we’ll send a follow-up e-mail with additional details.

WINTER SHOW: December 9 is our Winter Show at Borah High School. Txantxangorriak will start the party off at 12:30 PM with the dancers following at 1:00 PM. Please bring a can of food for our seasonal contribution to the Idaho Food Bank.

Dancing Teachers Needed

Boiseko Gazteak is losing five (5) teachers in our Nagusiak group, 3 teachers in the Txikis, and 1 in Azkarrak. This program cannot continue without people that are committed to teaching every Tuesday night for 9 weeks before Christmas and 9 weeks after Christmas. The teachers meet prior to the 1st lesson of each session to decide which dances will be taught - otherwise it’s only 1 hour a week! Please think about joining the crew that continues to pass on our culture to our kiddos year after year! If you are interested, please call Gina Urquidi (208) 465-0690 or Ana Mendiola (208) 322-8982. Eskerrik asko!
