Our
federation of Basque organizations is built upon the
contributions of our members, that aim to
assist each other in the pursuit of the same objective:
the perpetuation of "Basqueness" (Basque culture and identity).

The Ventura
County Basque Club was formed in 1994 in order to bring together the
Basques living in and around Ventura County. Current membership exceeds
90 families. Annual events include two barbecues and a mus tournament.
One barbecue is held in the
Spring with a second following in the Fall. The Spring gathering
features a Basque mass; a barbecue lunch with chicken, lamb, tri-tip,
beans, salad, bread and cheese; Basque folk song and dance follow the
lunch. Basque music for dancing is also provided for dancing. The Fall
BBQ is free to paid members and features paella, tri-tip and salad.
We would
like to remind everyone that beverages are not provided at either
barbecue. Therefore, please be sure to bring your own. Both barbecues
are held in Oak Grove Park (see directions below).
Since our
inception, the club has had the pleasure of sending two mus teams to the
world mus championships. The annual mus tournament is held in the
Spring with the NABO national tournament following in the Summer.
