First Thursday with Trey McIntyre Project

Trey McIntyre Project (TMP),an internationally-acclaimed dance company headquartered in Boise, has generously offered to assist the Basque Museum & Cultural Center with an event to support the Basque Museum & Cultural Center’s Expanding Horizons Campaign to the greater Boise community. Get a behind the scenes glimpse of the creative process in an up-close and personal setting at the Basque Center. Oinkari Basque Dancers will work with dancers from TMP as they prepare for the restaging of Trey McIntyre's Arrantza. TMP premiered Arrantza at Jaialdi in July 2010 and performed the ballet throughout its 2010-11 international touring season.  On February 16, 2013, TMP brings Arrantza back to the stage for two performances at the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts as the company kicks off its North American 2013 spring tour.

Guests at the event will witness the transformation of folk dance to contemporary ballet, can enjoy some delicious food and beverages as part of this fun and informative evening. Then participants will be encouraged to take advantage of the Museum’s regularly-scheduled FIRST THURSDAY activities with a free stroll through the gallery and free tour through the Jacobs/Uberuaga House.
