Oinkari Fundraising Events
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Oinkari Basque Dancers relies heavily on income from fundraiser events, private donations, and other charitable contributions.  Monies earned from fundraising efforts go primarily to funding travel expenses when the group visits the Basque Country to perform, or travels to other cultural festivals in the US. We hold annual fundraisers ( like Oinkari Bingo Night, Sagardotegi Ciderhouse Dinner and the Chorizo Booth) to cover operating costsIf the group is preparing for a specific event or major trip, we have held extra events like the Oinkari 24-hour Dance-a-thon to meet our fundraising goals.

Memorial Donations
Hundreds of Idaho Basques have participated in Oinkari at some point in their lives, and when a retired Oinkari dancer passes away, families and friends may choose to honor their loved one's memory with a memorial donation to Oinkari.  We gratefully accept memorial donations via check mailed to our P.O. Box or by clicking the PayPal button at the bottom of the page.

Grants
The Basque Government of Euskadi (the union of Araba, Bizkaia & Gipuzkoa) has made a concentrated effort to reach out and assist Diaspora Basques with various programs.  Oinkari's most recent grant awards have helped fund our 2011 Basque Country trip, and paid for the implementation of Gipuzkoan costumes for specific regional dances that Oinkari performs.  We are also open to US-based and regional grants, so if you know of a grant that would be a good match for Oinkari, please let us know!

Volunteers
Oinkari is a thriving folkloric group today due to generous support from the Boise community and from other Basques, both here in Boise and around the United States.  Volunteers help us year-round with our fundraising efforts, and are integral in helping to support Oinkari's mission.  Many friends and family members of current or retired Oinkari dancers volunteer their time at the Oinkari food booth at the Western Idaho Fair and help staff other events.  Our volunteers say they like staying in touch with Oinkari, even though many of them have retired from the group decades ago.

Paid Performances
Based in Boise, Oinkari performs at local, regional, national and international events, both professional and charitable, for Basque and non-Basque audiences. Our group showcases the very unique Basque immigrant culture that formed in Boise in the mid-20th century, and remains a vibrant point of cultural diversity in Boise today. The mix of fast feet, snapping fingers, colorful costumes, and live Basque music make our performances both enjoyable and engaging for any audience. We can showcase a wide variety of dances to match the requests of any event, and can adjust our performance length and style to fit all kinds of budgets. As a non-profit, all performance fees or donations collected go to operating costs and professional development of the group.
