‘Expanding Horizons’ Campaign

Give to the campaign!

The Basque Museum & Cultural Center is in the final phase of its Expanding Horizons fundraising campaign.  The fundraiser supports new education programs, collaborations and partnerships, and will expand the museum's education, collection and exhibit programs.

Service requests come from both resident & far-reaching individuals and communities who seek information and knowledge from the well-respected museum located in Boise, Idaho.  A survey of patrons was taken as part of a 10 year strategic plan completed in 2010.  The results indicated the museum could better benefit patrons by offering additional services to schools, individuals and businesses.  In addition, increased outreach was desired.

Income generated from the Expanding Horizons' $1.5 million Campaign will be used for expanded educational programs, additional exhibits and archival materials, resources & increased outreach.  An initial generous gift of $525,000 was given by a long-time, out-of-state patron, Virginia Argoitia.  Another $750,000 has been donated and/or pledged from very generous individuals, businesses and foundations to support the campaign efforts.

The substantial goal is meant to grow and sustain the museum so that is can continue to provide more value and increased benefit to a larger patron base for many years to come.

As we enter the season of gratitude and giving, we want to ask if you would consider making a year-end contribution to help us in our final push to raise the needed funds to be sustainable in 2014 and beyond.  The artwork to permanently recognize all Expanding Horizons donors is currently being designed and the installation is planned for the first quarter of 2014.

This is your final opportunity to support the Expanding Horizons campaign, receive public recognition for your contribution, and take advantage of the federal and state tax benefits for which your donation to the Basque Museum & Cultural Center qualifies.
