Group Tours

Group Tours are a very popular option for visiting the Basque Museum. Whether it is a school trip or other group outing, the Basque Museum is ready to accommodate tours of up to 30 people at one time. Group tours are a great way to learn about Basque history in a fun, yet educational environment.

Guide to Planning Your Group Visit

Reservations:
Reservations are necessary for all school and tour groups. Please reserve at least one week in advance by calling the Basque Museum and Cultural Center at 208-343-2671 or by e-mailing your request to info@basquemuseum.com. At the time of your reservation, please let us know if your group has any special needs. We can accommodate up to 30 group members at one time, per tour.  If you have a tour group larger than 30, please let us know so that we can provide staffing accordingly.  Please plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time.

Length of Visit:
Tours take approximately 1 - 1 1/2 hours for the museum and for the restored Jacobs-Uberuaga boarding house/fronton court.  Tours can be changed to fit your time restraints as well as topics of interest if at least one week notice is given.

Public Tour Hours:
June, July & August:  Guided Tours of the Cyrus Jacobs/Uberuaga Boarding House are held every day at Noon and 1:30pm.  September through May, tours are on Saturdays ONLY at Noon and 1:30pm.  Reservations for these tours are not required unless you have a group of more than 10 people.  The museum is closed Sunday and Monday.  Arrangements can be made for evening tours depending on staffing.

Group Rates:
$50 for a group of up to 30, if reservations are made in advance.

Chaperones:
We require at least one chaperone in addition to the teacher or leader for school/school-age tours. Chaperones help to make your museum visit a success. After booking a tour, chaperones, teachers, and group leaders should receive a copy of the museum rules and are responsible for helping group members as needed during the visit.
