Lamb Barbeque Success featured on EuskoSare
Pete & Freda's Lamb Barbeque was a great success, drawing more than 100 supporters to Boise's Basque Block on Friday evening. Rosa Totorica writes about the event in EuskoSare, a web venture to globalize the Basque community.
The event began with cocktail hour and then a wonderful Lamb dinner with all the fixings. The dinner was of course, followed by a marvelous rice pudding and presentations from Pete Cenarrusa, former Secretary of State and founder of the Foundation as well as Mayor Dave Bieter and the recipients of the 2007 Cenarrusa Foundation Grants.
Among the many dinner guests were Secretary of State Ben Ysursa, Boise State Basque Studies Program's new Director, Alberto Santana, as well as many other prominent supporters and friends.
The evening was highligheted not only by the presentations of Pete and Mayor Bieter, but also by a performance by Nick and Izar Bicandi, members of the Oinkari Basque Dancers and a pala exhibition in the historic Fronton (Anduiza) building.
The event was a huge success, but could not have been so great without the help of so many. The entire board of the Cenarrusa Foundation for Basque Culture, Pete and Freda Cenarrusa, Roy and Miren Eiguren, Miren Artiach, Jill Aldape, Gloria Totoricaguena, and Patty Miller, and countless others.
